COVID-19 vaccination clinics

More than 3.6m doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been delivered across Hampshire and Isle of Wight.

Health and care teams continue to do all they can to increase capacity to ensure every adult in our area is offered a booster by 31 December.

If you have a booked appointment, please do attend wherever possible, or cancel or move your slot if you are unable to attend for any reason.

To cancel or move a COVID-19 vaccine appointment booked through National Booking Service, please visit the website or call 119 (open between 7am and 11pm daily).

If you need to cancel or move an appointment booked via your GP practice, please do so via the link you followed when you received your text message invitation (Acubook). Please do not call your GP practice directly.

Thank you.

How to access the COVID-19 vaccine

We are working to provide more capacity in addition to booked appointments safely as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, more information on how to access the vaccine in Hampshire and Isle of Wight is available below.

  • Via a local GP service: GP practices are working together across the county to vaccinate as many people as possible. Residents may be contacted by a different surgery to the one they usually go to. These sites are delivering booster doses and third doses for people who are immunosuppressed.

  • At a vaccination centre: In our area we have centres at St James's Hospital in Portsmouth, Riverside on the Isle of Wight and Oakley Road in Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. Eligible people should receive a letter advising them of this route to book an appointment.  These sites are offering appointments for booster doses and first doses for children aged 12 – 17. These sites are also offering walk-in options for first and second doses. More appointments Hampshire and Isle of Wight are being added to the National Booking Service (NBS) daily. We know that additional appointment slots are booked up very quickly, therefore we would advise people to check regularly for any updates here. Alternatively call the National Booking Service on 119 (open between 7am and 11pm daily. We will provide further updates as soon as possible.

  • Some local pharmacies: NHS England and Improvement has arranged for some pharmacies in Hampshire and Isle of Wight to provide the booster vaccination on an appointment basis. People can book an appointment at a pharmacy via the National Booking System online or by calling 119.

For more information on local sites please click here.

Hospital Hubs

Hospital Hubs Plus have been launched as part of the national COVID-19 vaccination programme which aims to offer every adult the chance to book a booster jab by the end of the year.  Hospital hubs provide additional capacity and work alongside mass vaccination centres, primary care and pharmacies to support delivery of the vaccination programme in our communities. To book a booster appointment, visit www.nhs.uk or call 119.

Current hospital hubs plus in Hampshire and Isle of Wight are:

  • Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, Portsmouth

A reduction in demand for appointments at the hospital vaccination hub in the Oasis Centre, has led to changes in opening times.

The hub will be open as usual until Friday 14 January, then only on the following dates in January: Saturday 15 and Sunday 16, Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20, and Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 from 7.15am to 2.45pm for walk-ins. Any appointments booked for these dates will be honoured, while the outpatients booking centre are contacting anyone booked in for a different date to rearrange.

The hub is able to offer first, second and booster doses, for eligible individuals aged 16 years plus, as walk-in on these dates.

  • St Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight
You can book appointments via the National Booking Service . The vaccination hub is open:

Monday to Thursday: 7.40pm to 4.30pm
    Sunday: 8.30am to 2.30pm

Booked appointments only. Walk-in services are available at other locations on the Isle of Wight - please see the Walk-in clinics section below.

  • Southampton General Hospital, Southampton
UHS has become a hospital hub plus, meaning appointments are now able to be booked through the national booking system.
